Opening Comments

I intend the title of this blog to indicate two things: a slant to the political Left, and a predisposition towards complex narratives displaying, I hope, the "great fancy" referenced by Thomas Hobbes in the quotation from Leviathan above, but not the folly. Digression is a speciality of mine, and parenthetical comments, meanderings, etc., are a joy of my life. If folly they be, then c'est la vie. We are what we are, and I am going to open parentheses (at least I expect to!) quite a bit, regardless.
